Ocean transportation is the most energy-efficient way of moving large volumes of cargo and fuel consumption per transported unit is low. Nevertheless, the use of fossil fuels does constitute a risk of pollution, and may over time contribute to global warming.

Thus, EUKOR continuously takes active measures to reduce any impact on the environment from our operations. In particular, we pursue means to prevent marine and atmospheric pollution, to minimize waste products and to make the most economical use of resources. Our dedicated team of Cargo and Vessel Quality professionals continuously work together with vessel owners, shipbuilders and customers to ensure that emissions into air are kept to a minimum through reduction of fuel consumption and use of low sulphur fuel. At every point in time, strong emphasis and financial commitment is given to using the cleanest marine fuel commercially available.
Bilge water purification, ballast water management and meticulous on-board waste management are other areas that are always given utmost priority.
Special attention is given to safety measures and training to prevent maritime accidents with consequential oil spill effects.
EUKOR has been awarded the Environmental Management System Standard: ISO 14001;1996, KS S 14001;2001 certification for its structured and committed work with environmental issues.
