Calculation methodology
Carbon Calculator estimates CO2e emission based on actual, trade-specific, EUKOR CO2e intensities. These intensities are calculated in alignment to Smart Freight Centre’s Deep-Sea Ro-Ro Ship Greenhouse Gas Emission Intensity Calculation Method, which is developed in accordance with ISO 14083.
The calculator estimates well-to-wake emissions (WTW) CO2e impact for shipments, reflecting the full lifecycle impact of the fuel consumed.
The CO2e intensities used in this calculator reflects our performance in 2024 and have been verified by DNV. Distances also include a 15% adjustment for to account for real-world conditions such as additional port calls and weather deviations.
